Abstract :
This paper deals with concept of protected access to multimedia with respect to rights management of transmitted content. Presented technologies are ready to be implemented and fulfill the needs of most of Internet Service Providers for video on demand service to customers with respect legal issues given by content owners. With numbers of users using mobile devices for streaming delivery there is need to implement new authentication models and methods. This paper presents some ideas based on features provided by modern mobile operating systems. Part of this work presents Videoserver platform developed by Computer Networks Laboratory at Technical University in Kosice. Videoserver platform serves as testbed for developing new solutions for better content handling and for providing secure access to content. Paper is focused mostly on outlines of possible solutions to open problems.
