Abstract :
This paper presents 2q-Root-MUSIC method as a computationally efficient version of the conventional 2q-MUSIC method for high resolution Direction-Of-Arrival (DOA) estimation. The 2q-MUSIC method employs higher-order statistics and achieves better DOA estimation accuracy than MUSIC method, however the accuracy becomes worse in the case of low SNR or small number of snapshots. Recall that Root-MUSIC method is an algebraic algorithm without spectrum search and achieves better accuracy than the MUSIC method, similar extension would be possible for 2q-MUSIC method. The proposed 2q-Root-MUSIC method improves the DOA estimation accuracy of the 2q-MUSIC method in the case of low SNR or small number of snapshots. Performance of the proposed method is evaluated through some computer simulation.
