Abstract :
In this paper, we propose a cross layer technique considering application (APP), medium access control (MAC), and physical (PHY) layers together. The proposed technique uses modulation coding schemes (MCSs) of MAC layer, source significance information (SSI) and error concealment unit of APP layer, and channel quality information (CQI) of PHY layer. We demonstrate the improved video quality by the proposed cross layer technique when H.264 videos are streamed over Rayleigh fading wireless channels.
