Abstract :
Developing an accurate analytic model that takes into account various impacts of dynamic vehicular environments, such as mobility of vehicles, channel fading, and hidden vehicle problem, is necessary for the reliability analysis of vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) safety communications. In this paper, we present existing analytic models of the IEEE 802.11p MAC protocol and point out their limitations and technical challenges.
