Abstract
Applying optical steganography to public differential phase-shift keying (DPSK) transmission by transmitting a stealth spectral-phase-encoded (SPE) OCDMA signal through a DPSK link is demonstrated. The SPE OCDMA approach can provide high spectral efficiency performance. By properly adjusting the power of the amplified spontaneous emission (ASE) noise, the stealth signal can hide well in the public channel with producing minimal influence on the public DPSK signal. At the receiver, the stealth signal is successfully recovered by a balance detector.
