Abstract :
Rays in city canyon is the most common mode of radio propagation. Our research is also based on this kind of urban assumption. This paper studies the impact of spatial building distribution on the path-loss exponent. The results are obtained by simulation. The simulation is based on a 3D ray tracing algorithm for the computation of the received power and on a stochastic geometry process for the generation of buildings. The evolution of the path-loss exponent against several terrain parameters is investigated. Parameters such as spatial density, the distribution of buildings and the distribution of antennas heights are considered. Some interesting results were found, and statistical fittings are proposed for the path-loss exponent from the results obtained by simulation.
