Abstract :
In this paper, we present our work on the virtual reproduction of Ato-Matsuri in the Kyoto Gion Festival using computer graphics (CG) and virtual reality (VR) technologies. We created the CG models of three floats, namely Kitakannon-yama, Minamikannon-yama, and Ofune-hoko, which were participated in the parade. We also created CG models of Hikikata, who belong to Kitakannon-yama and Minamikannon-yama. The body motion data of Hikikata were captured using a motion-capturing technique. The users can interactively explore the virtual world by crossing its time and space.
