Abstract
Social networking has extended its popularity from the Internet to the mobile domain. Nowadays, mobile Internet can work together with self-organized ad hoc networks to offer advanced pervasive social networking (PSN) at any time and in any place. Trust plays an important role in PSN for reciprocal activities among strangers. It helps people overcome perceptions of uncertainty and risk and engages in trust-related social behaviors. However, current literature still lacks a comprehensive study to manage trust in PSN. In this paper, we propose a research model towards trustworthy pervasive social networking by reviewing the current literature and indicating unsolved issues.
