Abstract :
Cloud Federation and Cloud Brokering are the two major approaches considered nowadays to facilitate interoperability and portability between end-user´s applications via the implication of multiple Cloud Providers. Cloud Brokering induces extra costs and service provisioning overheads in exchange for new value-added service provisioning. The CompatibleOne French National research project proposes an open source Cloud Brokering platform that is operational today. This paper presents the CompatibleOne Scheduler agent, a component of the CompatibleOne architecture. The CompatibleOne Scheduler aims to maximize the Cloud Broker´s revenues while assuring the end-users´ expectations, knowing the contribution to be paid back to the underlying Cloud Providers. A two-class priority scheduling policy is proposed for the CompatibleOne Scheduler agent and compared against the well-known First-Come First-Served service discipline. The proposed analytical model confirms the validity of the numerical results that were obtained.
