Abstract :
The Barcode system has large scale application around the world. However, its disadvantages of unique object identity and the lack of connectivity to Internet have turned the customer´s attention into the EPC(Electronic Product Code, EPC in short) Network. As a subsidiary organization of GS1, EPCglobal has launched an EPC network architectural framework. In the paper, the author designs the encoding and decoding schema of SGTIN-96. Moreover a EPC encoding system toward enterprise application is designed and implemented, which is based on the schema. Through the system, SGTIN-96 labels can be generated and printed. And the content of SGTIN-96 labels can be decoded as well. The method of designing and implementing a new EPC Network also is discussed in this paper and case study is introduced for supporting the extensibility on Barcode in EPC network.
