  • Abstract
    As a portable and fast gas analyzer, the surface acoustic wave and gas chromatograph (SAW/GC) system can achieve a broad-spectrum (Volatile and semi-volatile organic compounds), fast response (<;1 min), high sensitivity (ppb ~ ppt level) for trace gases detection. It was very promising for drugs, explosives, poisons and human body odor analysis in the public security. The special application scenarios include detection on chemical agents, explosives and narcotics surveillance at airports, subways, railway stations, docks, and other important public places, additionally the fire scene investigation, abnormal death investigation (poisoning or not), the human body odor analysis left in criminal scene, etc.. The GC/SAW system is potential to be a multi-purpose instrument in the public sector.
