Abstract
This paper proposes a new position sensorless control for any motors. The universal position sensorless scheme consists of instantaneous power control which takes specific control axis on reactive and mechanical power, voltage correction and special maximum torque per ampere (MTPA). It realizes higher efficiency operation along with robustness against motor parameter variation caused by magnetic saturation. The effectiveness of the method is verified by some experimental results.
