Abstract :
This paper proposes a comparison between two wireless temperature sensors, one based on a time-coded chipless radio frequency identification (RFID) tag and the other based on a semi-passive chip-based RFID tag. The latter is mainly proposed as an alternative to overcome the limitations in sensor calibration and read range inherent to chipless sensors. The advantages and disadvantages of each topology are pointed out.
