Abstract
The reliability of wind energy conversion system (WECS) is depend on wind turbine generator (WTG) type and its different parameters. In this paper the reliability indices such as loss of load hours (LOLH) and loss of energy expectation (LOEE) are calculated by considering discrete wind speed frame. The wind speed model is developed using Weibull distribution function with the Weibull parameters for a particular site. The load model is developed by using IEEE-RTS. The risk model is developed by combining load model and generation model and the reliability indices are evaluated. The type of wind generator is selected considering the reliability indices obtained for a site and the cost of wind generator.
