            Abstract :
Wireless sensor networks (WSN) and many other wireless communication systems utilize the spectrum frequency of 2.4 GHz. Radio interference, intentional or not, is a serious threat to the availability of services and a major cause of performance losses in wireless networks. This paper evaluates the behavior of WSN under interference in real-world scenarios, such as other WSNs, WLANs, Bluetooth networks and microwave ovens. Moreover, is evaluated a prototype multi-radio sensor node as an alternative for reducing the coexistence problems. Results shown that the delivery rates reach 99.83% in presence of interference.
