Abstract :
In this contribution a feeding concept of a dielectric lens for polarimetric radar applications at 24 GHz is presented. Two feeding antennas are compared by 3D-electromagnetic field simulations, confirming the advantages of a corrugated horn antenna in this scenario. For the chosen setup a cross polarization of 35.6 dB and a side lobe suppression of 34.3 dB is achieved. The performance and the applicability of the feeding concept are verified by polarimetric radar measurements.
