Abstract
A novel method for the multipactor breakdown inhibiting of microwave components is described in this paper. It is a new surface treatment with regular porous structure on silver plated by the photolithography technique. The influences of the regular porous structure for secondary emission are studied with theoretic analysis and experimental research. The abilities to increase the multipactor power level in a corrugated waveguide and a ridge filter have been validated by simulation. The insertion loss of the microwave components with the regular porous structure surface and multipactor threshold of corrugated waveguide is verified experimentally. Using this method can be improved the power capabilities of microwave components. This is a simple and convenient method with controllable feature in appearance, construction and dimension of the regular porous structure. The components with regular porous structure show low loss property also.
