  • Abstract
    This paper presents an FPGA-based approach for a high-precision radar measurement system at the ISM band located at 61 GHz. The presented system consists of an highly integrated 60GHz radar frontend packaged in embedded wafer-level packaging technology (eWLB) with integrated transmit and receive antennas in the redistribution layer of the package. The system has been set up on a standard FR4 printed circuit board and completed by an FPGA control unit. The system features a PLL design showing good phase noise performance of -75dBc at 100 kHz offset frequency. In combination with the implemented efficient signal processing hardware a demonstrator for precise distance measurements has been realized.
