Abstract :
This paper focuses on the utilization of long integration times in extracting helicopter type specific features by passive coherent location (PCL) radar. In addition, tailored signal processing methods are presented. The extracted features are related to helicopter´s main rotor blades and rotational modulation they produce. Theoretical framework is verified with real helicopter measurements and data analysis. The achieved results indicate a potential of PCL radar to generate deployable data into non-cooperative target recognition (NCTR) applications.
