Abstract :
This work presents the design and the manufacturing of an ultra wide band amplifier integrated with a low impedance antenna for Biomedical applications. The amplifier operates from 1.5 GHz up to 3.5 GHz that gives the advantage of having high resolution radar system. The amplifier has a gain of 10 dB with input reflection coefficient less -5 dB and serves as a matching network between the 50 Ω input and the low impedance antenna. The chip consumes low power of 56 mW and has an area of 0.689 mm2. The idea of integrating the chip with the antenna to realize a miniaturized active transmitter is shown. The chip is designed using a low cost 0.25 μm 95 GHz fmax SiGe-HBT-BiCMOS process technology.
