Abstract
Energy optimization is one of the major concerns in wireless sensor network applications since it impacts the life of individual node. In this paper, we investigate an efficient compression scheme that ensures a significant computational and energy reduction. This scheme is based on two image compression techniques. The proposed techniques are based on wavelet image transform. The simulation results show that the purpose is effective on the performance of energy consumption compared with the standard transform with a guarantee for the image quality to be lower-bounded.
