Abstract :
With the development of microwave technology, near field measurement is used more and more widely. As one of key components, performance of Open-Ended Rectangular WaveGuide (OERWG) probe has the most important influence on measurement accuracy. This paper analyze the OERWG theoretically, estimating its gain. Then simulation validates the analysis. On the basis of analysis and simulation, we propose methods to calibrate OERWG probe. Taking WR284 waveguide probe as an example, the measurements are compared with simulation results. Conclusions show that, in the probe the entire frequency, gain measured value and simulation value are well matched, with biggest difference around 0.25dB, which validates the proposed calibrating method.
