Abstract
The power allocation is a vital issue for cognitive radio networks. The secondary system should select the proper transmission scheme to meet the demand of data transmission with interference constraint. Many existed papers aim to maximize the channel capacity of the secondary system and whose power allocation schemes do not consider the influence of the primary system activity. In this paper, a joint optimization has been considered which includes the primary system activity information and the requirement of the secondary system. By minimizing the bandwidth-interference power product (an metric can evaluate the consumption of spectrum resource), a novel resource allocation scheme is proposed to minimize the spectrum footprint for cognitive radio network. Comparing with traditional power allocation scheme which using the iterative waterfilling method, our proposed power allocation scheme show the significant enhancement and can be validate by the simulation.
