Abstract
To cope with the rapidly increased demands for traffic volumes and end-user datarates, deploying higher-order sectorization is an effective way especially in highly loaded scenario. However, for LTE, the mismatch between the interference level of the cell-specific reference signal and data is more severe with higher-order sectorization. This results in inaccurate channel quality estimation and conservative link adaptation. This paper proposes an adaptive adjustment algorithm to compensate the under-estimated channel quality. Simulation results clearly prove that the proposed algorithm can effectively improve the link adaptation and consequently improve end-user datarates.
