Abstract
With the advancement and wide deployment of wireless communication technologies, mobile phones, PDAs, and car embedded devices gear up to equip sensors recently. Such devices offer new opportunities for many sensing applications. Therefore, People-Centric Sensing networks are getting popular. However, the privacy of participating individuals becomes a new challenge for these networks. Since the existing standard privacy technologies are not sufficient to solve the distinct problems of the new networks, we present the design of PPSense, a novel Privacy-Preserving system in people-centric Sensing networks. Based on the Ciphertext Policy Attribute Based Encryption (CP-ABE) and Mix scheme, PPSense can support strong user privacy against adversaries. We also evaluate the security and performance of PPSense. The result of evaluation shows that PPSense can significantly improve the users´ privacy under a reasonable cost.
