Abstract :
Radiation characteristics of linear 5-element phased array antennas (PAAs) equidistantly positioned along the E-plane composed of 5×2 inductive loaded patch antennas (ILPAs) are measured and compared to those of a linear PAA composed of conventional patch antennas. The radiation characteristics of linear PAAs composed of ILPAs are significantly improved compared to those of a linear PAA composed of conventional patch antennas such as low variations of the main beam gain and side-lobe level over wide scan angle range.
