Abstract
VR (virtual reality)-based training simulators provide wide-ranging second-hand experience and physical activities for the specific training scenario. Therefore computer-human interaction technology plays an important role in such a training system. We are developing a VR training simulator for emergency response training in a hazardous process plant facility, involving operations of plant machinery, search or evacuation tasks. This paper introduces an application of haptic and locomotion interfaces that support haptic interactions with virtual object and space navigation task using physical human walking.
