  • Abstract
Radio astronomy is fundamental to a multi-wavelength and multi-messenger program for astronomy and astrophysics that has evolved since several decades ago. Substantial revolution in astrophysics has been made possible by radio astronomy such as the discoveries of quasar, pulsar, binary pulsar, cosmic microwave background, and so on. The entire radio spectrum in astronomy covers wavelengths from tens of meters, centimeter, millimeter, up to sub-millimeter. Some of the basic telescope types remain to the present day and various needs in instrumentation have provided some attractive developments in this area. To achieve a greater spatial resolution has also led to many creative designs and the invention of aperture synthesis and VLBI. To pave the way the presence of radio astronomy in Indonesia, we developed several types of small telescopes at Bosscha Observatory, operating at some tuned frequencies from low frequency of 20.1 MHz up to L-band in microwave at 1660 MHz. This includes the development of CALLISTO solar radio telescope that has joined the e-CALLISTO network recently. This radio astronomy activities as well as plan for the future at Bosscha Observatory will be presented.
