  • Abstract
    By the increasing production piston motor vehicle manufacturing industry, often experienced problems especially on old machines. Among them is the Out Diameter Finish (ODF) machine contained in the machining process. The Out Diameter Finish machine is used to determine the grade of the piston. Grade is the outer diameter of the piston grouping based on predetermined tolerance standards of the Out Diameter Finish machine at each production line. The authors conducted research related to the design of control systems the out diameter finish machine to reduce the occurrence of machine downtime, and facilitate engineer to fix the problem if it occurs on the machine. The design of the control system covering the entire Out Diameter Finish machine, ranging from hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and control systems Sysmac CJ1M CPU21 Omron Programmable Logic Controller (PLC). This is evident in the programming easy maintenance and ease of control system detects a problem. The new cycle time the out diameter finish machine for is flat rate of 28 second per piece or faster 30% of the cycle time, before that the cycle time is 40 second per piece.
