Abstract
This paper details the proposed design of an output filter consisting composing of an inductor (Lo) with a magnetic-shielding ring to suppress the output of common-mode (CM) voltage in an off-line switching-mode power converters (SMPCs) in fault current limiter (FCL) used. The circuit configuration is extremely simple so that it can help reduce the component size as well as the cost. An off-line Flyback-type SMPC using the proposed output CM suppresser was constructed. The results of the experiment proven that a good performance can be achieved by the proposed CM output suppresser for a PWM off-line SMPC system.
