Abstract :
In this paper a comparison between some modulation methods for a NPC converter working with low-switching frequencies is made. As the NPC converter is used in a STATCOM system, imbalanced voltages appear in the neutral point. In order to avoid the imbalance, some DC voltage balancing methods are implemented too.
