Abstract :
This paper presents a method to reduce the shape and the amplitude of the common-mode voltage between the coupling point of the stator windings and the ground. We refer to the method as Pre-calculated Harmonic Elimination Pulse Width Modulation (PHEPWM). The principle is based on the programming of the switching strategies of the VSI using a pre-calculated approach that reduces the number of combinations between the six switches of the inverter. To validate the method, a three-phase squirrel-cage induction machine rating 1.5kW, 400V, 50Hz, 4-poles fed by a VSI is used for the experimental setup. The efficiency of the proposed method is also verified by applying the simple sinusoidal pulse width modulation (SPWM) method.
