Abstract :
The present paper focuses on wide-speed range sensorless control of a permanent magnet synchronous machine (PMSM). More precisely, the purpose is to design an hybrid observer to estimate the rotor position which combines the high frequency signal injection method in low speed regions including standstill and the model-based observer in medium and high speed regions. A general observability study for the PMSM is then, proposed. To reveal the effectiveness of the proposed observer, simulation results are provided.
