Abstract :
The study presents the results of matched field inversion of seismic data to estimate geoacoustic properties of the sediments. The data is acquired from towed streamer hydrophone array. The study jointly utilizes the Bartlett and Minimum Variance processors during the inversion process. As there is no ground truth available, the results obtained are compared with the results from modal wavenumber inversion method. The comparison showed that the estimated sedimentary layer compressional speed in both the case is reasonably close.
