Abstract :
This paper presents a comparative analysis of two types of high-gain observers used to estimate the molar compositions in a distillation column for a binary mixture (Ethanol-Water) using the temperature measurements in the plates. These observers are selected according to the system characteristics: triangular structure, locally Lipchitz and bounded states. The aim is to select the high-gain observer best suited to develop efficient fault detection systems to help prevent accidents and improve the safety of the user and the process, maintaining a balance between reliability, efficiency and ease of implementation.
