Abstract
In this paper, we provide an empirical analysis of evolving networks of international R&D collaboration in the Mg Alloys industry between 2001 and 2010. We first show the evolution of the international R&D collaboration network, which has become more extensive, and more unequal in the sense that a core/periphery structure has emerged in the network. As followed, binary logistic regression method is used to analyze the driving effect behind the formation of core/periphery. Our results support that the emerging core-periphery structure may be driven by preferential attachment.
