Abstract :
Gradually, ITS (Intelligent Transportation System) has functioned in the urban and inter-city traffic network in China. However, as the insufficient design research and relevant standards of the visual visibility and humanization, the actual usage of ITS is problematic. The nonstandard display of the fonts, the unreasonable of information arrangement and the chaotic use of color has lowered the visibility and legibility of the traffic signal system and reduce the efficiency of information transmission. This study summarize the suitable font, the information arrangement, the display of complicated Chinese characters and colors of ITS preliminarily according to the research, so as to improve visibility and legibility of digital traffic signal system and offer helps to boost the modernized development of Intelligent Transportation System and optimize the image of traffic network in China.
