Abstract :
Distance education by e-learning system is the teaching or learning process in which students are separated from the other students, the instructors and the learning resources. It focuses on teaching methods and technology with the aim of delivering knowledge and related resources to the students who can not learn at the classroom. Distance education becomes more and more important in lifelong learning era, especially for the people in impoverished areas, mountainous areas, and so like. In this paper, we introduce a distance education support platform based on web services and information and communication technology to improve the quality of education in remote and poverty-stricken areas. By this platform, the learner and teacher could download high quality learning resources, and communicate with many famous teachers.
