Abstract :
With the increment in demand of special structure optical fibers, we have theoretically studied the effect of different trench parameters on cutoff wavelength, macro-bending loss and chromatic dispersion of optical fiber by finite element method with a trench-assisted optical fiber model. The results show that all the three properties are affected obviously by the trench.
