Abstract :
Shadow is an important visual cue in 3D scene, which provides the information about spatial relations among objects and the information of light sources. The current research on real-time shadow generation which is important for multimedia system mainly concentrated on the point-light shadow map (traditional SM). Due to the rapid development of computer vision, the traditional point-light shading effect has been unable to meet the diversity and high simulation requirements. While parallel-light shading have become the focus of study and research reasonably. Aimed at this topic, this paper suggests an improved shadow map algorithm aimed at realizing shadows of parallel light, which will guarantee not only the convenience but also the rendering rate.
