Abstract :
The importance of the Building Information Model technology is described in this article. Although the BIM technology is widely applied in the architecture industry of developed countries, it merely applied in several designing institute in our country. The core issue discussed here is the reason why BIM technology should be applied in engineering management industry. The current statue of the application of the BIM technology in our country is analyzed. The differences of traditional modeling software comparing to the BIM technology are listed. Moreover, basing on the application of the BIM technology in engineering management industry in our country, the prospects for development of the BIM technology in our country are explained. As the technology developed, the BIM would be core technology in the near future.
