  • Abstract
Interlocking system is the device by which devices such as the signal, point machine and track circuit, etc. can be operated by linking mutually with the logic generated mechanically, electrically or by software for safe and rapid train operation and vehicle shunting within the station yard. In case where there is any malfunctioning in the interlocking system due to the effect of harmonics according to the train operation within the electrical railway section, serious problems such as the rear-end collision of train and discontinuation of train operation, etc. can be occurred. This paper presents results through test criteria and methods to check whether harmonics to be generated according to the train operation on electrical railway section of Gyeong-chun Line have effects on the interlocking system. In addition, it checked if harmonics according to the train operation have effects on the interlocking system to be installed in the signal machine room.
