Abstract :
Fuzzy mathematical morphology is generally a characteristic extraction method from an Ambiguous image. Fuzzy mathematical morphology is a set theoretic operation of object image and structuring element that have a shape and value. The structuring element´s size, shape, and the value need to be selected before the operation, and the result of the selection will influence the applied image. In this paper, we show an end-face inspection example of fiber-connector using Fuzzy mathematical morphology using Fuzzy adaptive structuring element. Fuzzy Adaptive Structuring Element determines shapes, size and values of structuring element automatically by searching for the local region in an input image. The results show that the Fuzzy adaptive structuring element is sensitive to ambiguous images and useful for automatic inspection systems using fuzzy morphology and is effective for extraction characteristics.
