Abstract :
IEEE 802.15.4 standard is widely used in Internet-of-Things applications. With more features and functions added to the applications, the IEEE 802.15.4 network may become large and crowded. This paper presents an experimental method to evaluate the link quality of the high-density network when unavoidable communication collisions happen. The results of the experiments give several quantitative disciplines of receiver behavior under packet collisions. The results can be used as a guideline for IEEE 802.15.4 network deployment and high-level network simulations.
