Abstract :
Persistent Scatterer Interferometry (PSI) and Small Baseline Subset interferometry (SBAS) can be used to estimate time series of surface deformation with high precision. In areas with low coherence, and in the absence of sufficient PS, the estimation of reliable phase information can be very cumbersome. Here we report two methods to improve the feasibility and precision of deformation parameter estimation in low-coherence areas; adaptive multilook windowing and the integrated use of data from several satellite missions. Adaptive multilook windowing makes complex coherence estimation more precise. Combining multiple datasets improves the precision of deformation parameter estimation. These methods reveal significant subsidence and seasonal deformation in pasture on drained peat soils in the Netherlands, which have not been densely captured by conventional techniques.
