Abstract :
A method has been developed to detect liquefaction areas using multi-temporal PALSAR coherence data. We applied the method to the Kantou region Japan where severe liquefaction occurred at the time of the Tohoku earthquake on 11 March 2011. The extracted liquefaction areas agreed well with the reference survey data produced by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, and the Japanese Geotechnical Society.
