  • Abstract
    We present a novel parallel-ring-resonator tunable laser monolithically integrated with an InGaAlAs electroabsorption modulator for 100-Gb/s optical packet switching. Clear eye openings at 25 Gb/s are achieved over a wavelength range of 25.7 nm. A dynamic extinction ratio of more than 10 dB is obtained with a constant voltage swing of 2 V at 45°C.
