Abstract
Wireless monitoring increased capacity with small portable devices will have benefits in clinical practice. The development of technology has greatly increased the public expectations. Wireless Body Area Networks (WBANs) are expected to reduce the mortality rate caused by chronic diseases. Global predictions show that the share of older population becomes significant. The implementation of the wireless IT technologies, (e.g. WiMAX, 3G, and Wi-Fi Mesh) it has become increasingly attractive for researchers. The major problem for WBANs is the energy consumption; mobility and portability are other considerations for the design; secure real-time communications must be taken into consideration since transmitted data are strictly confidential. Transmitting medical data from body sensors, like ECG signal, require establishment and authentication algorithm.
