Abstract
A new class of bivariate functions on R2 denoted by IB(R2) is introduced. The class IB(R2) may contain some kind of discontinuous functions. The behavior of approximation of functions in IB(R2) by bivariate Gauss-Weierstrass operators is investigated and a point wise approximation theorem is established.
