Abstract :
This article models and visualizes the Luohe Basin by applying three dimensional GIS technology on the 971 points of stratum data obtained in deep gullies. The result shows that this technology has attractive performance in modeling the superposed relationship of stratums in 3D, integrating 2D and 3D material, and realizing applications of spatial analysis such as volume calculation and isopach map drawing. This study also demonstrates that the modeling and visualization procedures have practical significance and potential value for similar researches on loess in other regions.
